Johannes Gutenberg
Good afternoon I'm goin to talk about the printing press. It was invented by the German Johannes Gutenberg around 1440. Key to its development was the hand mold, a new molding technique that enable the rapid creation of larrge quantities of metal movable type. Printing presses exponentially increased the speed with wich book copies could be made, and thus they led to the rapid and widespread dissemination of knowledge for the first time in history. Twenty million volumes had been printed in Western Europe by 1500.
Among other things, the printing press permitted wider acces to the Bible, which in turn led to alternative interpretations including that of Martin Luther, whose "95 Theses" a document printed by the hundred-thousand sparked the Protestant Reformation.
Johannes Gutenberg's year of birth is not precisely known but was most likely around 1398 in the German city of Mainz. It's the youngest son of the upper-class merchant Friele Gensfleish zur Laden, and his secon wife, Else Wyrich. Gutenberg died in 1468 and was buried in the Franciscan church at Mainz, his contributions largely unknown. This church and the cementery were later destroyed, and Gutenberg's grave is now lost.
In my oppinion the printing press change and is a greatest contribution to the world because gave us the opportunity to reproduce more information in less time, and permit us do officials documents too. Also it permit us take information from the internet and print it and so we have the correct information for school work and so we do not make mistakes or incomplete information by passing
